What Martial Art will I learn?

Virtual Kenpo teaches a Tracy Kenpo Karate based system. This system has been proven time and again to be extremely effective in street self-defense. It originated in China and then moved through Japan, Okinawa, and eventually to Hawaii where it became very popular across the United States with thousands of schools in operation today. This martial art is not a sport, but rather survival oriented to help you defend yourself effectively.

Kenpo focuses on learning self-defense techniques to handle every situation. These techniques become second nature to help you react accordingly based on the attack. Beginner techniques are used as a foundation for the more advanced techniques, so over time you will have an answer to almost any situation you may encounter. Kenpo focuses primarily on hands and low kicks for defense, meaning anyone can learn or use it. This martial art is very brutal as it seeks to end the confrontation as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Why We Are Different

Instruction Type

Instruction is provided through videos and text. The videos are designed in an instructional format as if you were receiving a weekly private lesson. Text provides steps or additional information around the lesson given in the video.

Weekly Lessons

All training is broken into a weekly lesson containing: 2 Self Defense Techniques, 1 Kick/Punch, 1 part of the Kata, and a Basic Motion. Each belt level consists of 8- 15 weeks and it takes approximately 3 and half years to reach Black Belt.

Self Improvement

Learning Martial Arts is a great way to improve control, build strength, increase self-confidence, and learn to protect yourself. The skills learned through Martial Arts increases the mental as well as the physical, but only through discipline and dedication.

Certified Belt Rank

Gaining rank is optional; however, we do provide certification of rank by Tracy's Kenpo Worldwide if you choose to test for rank. Testing is performed via video conference or uploaded video and additional testing and certification fees apply.
